Dinner feels a little more special now that the table’s got this natural texture under the plates, and the merino wool holds up well even after a few spills. It’s the kind of piece that makes a weekday meal feel like a proper sit-down.

The wool is noticeably softer than I expected for a placemat, and it adds a cozy warmth to the table that paper or cotton never could. Even after a few meals, the surface still looks clean and holds its shape perfectly.

The weave is tight enough that crumbs don’t get stuck, but it still feels plush under my forearms while I eat. Our table gets daily use and this placemat has held its shape through two weeks of washing without pilling.
