I’m not sure what I expected, but the merino wool tops feel so much nicer than the usual cork or paper coasters, and the leather base keeps them exactly where I put them. They’re subtle enough that I just leave them out on the coffee table all the time.
The leather base keeps these from sliding around on my coffee table, and the wool tops are soft enough that I don't worry about scratching my glass. They stack neatly into the square tray when guests leave, which makes cleanup feel almost too easy.
These coasters have a lovely weight to them, and the merino wool top feels surprisingly plush against a warm mug. I use them as a small tray for my keys and watch when I'm not protecting the table, and they look great doing both jobs.
